Capture Rendering2 is used to capture either a single-frame bitmap of the viewing area, or a short video clip. Single frames are stored in standard Windows 24-bit BMP format.
Video clips are stored as Windows AVI files at 30 fps; they are generated automatically as a single 360° rotation around the locked axis, so for video export to work the Lock Axis10 option must be set to X, Y or Z. If not, an error message will be displayed:
When you click the Capture Rendering2 menu option, a File Save dialog will appear, like this:
Note: For Single Frame captures, the File Save dialog caption will say “Microsoft BMP Bitmap Format”
Select your path, enter a filename and save your file. Once the file has been written to disk, the following message box will appear:
Please wait until this message box is displayed before closing the 3D Viewer window.
