Clouds

For a surface or 3D object, all of the points
lie on the surface itself; the points define the surface. But a
point cloud is a distribution of points with no defined surface.
The convex hull algorithm built into ViXL-3D attempts to define a
shape for the volume populated by the point cloud, using the point
distribution as the basis for determining the hull boundary.
